Interview: Hand to Hand

Hello Rob, thank you for taking the time. My name is Matthias and I am writer for a small online magazine in Germany and was asked to make aninterview with you. Let´s go:

It took a lot of time until we received ‚Breaking the surface‘. The time until ‚Design the end.‘ was much shorter now. What were the reasons for this?

It took us a while to finally get the right line-up but once we clicked it was time to rocked.

I think I never heard a debut album that was more inspiring than ‚A perfect way to say goodbye‘. The EP was much more metal influenced, and now your new album rather sounds like the debut. Looking into future, what will the next album sound like?

Its going to sound like slayer wrote it on the moon!!!

When you visited Germany the last time, I was able to see you live in Hannover (it was the show where you lost one of your lenses.). Ending up with the words „Tomorrow´s a brand new day, for what it´s worth I´m sure.“ was one of the most emotional moments during a show I have ever seen. How important is it for you to reach the fans hearts during a show?

I love to write how I feel. I think touching fans through words is the best feeling in the world.

Let´s get to the „crossfire“ part of the interview (10 questions that are always the same in each interview):

At home:
01.)
In which way do you write your songs? Does anyone of you have kind of an initial idea, or do you just play on and on until something sounds interesting to you, or another way?

I suck at guitar. So all my ideas are made with my mouthtar.

02.)
Except playing music, what do you do in your free time?

Graphic art design and Im a world class drinker.

03.)
Is HAND TO HAND job, vocation or hobby?

It’s a lifestyle

On the road:
04.)
Vegan, straight edge, or rather sex drugs and rock´n´roll? What does a perfect catering look like?

Headbanging, outerspace and drinking out of cups

05.)
If you could choose, who would be your favourite support band on a headlining tour / who would be your favourite headliner you would support?

Glassjaw and Simon and Garfunkle

06.)
What was your greatest event live or on tour by now?

Playing in Europe!! You guys rock!!!

Curious:
07.)
Imagine you are stranded on a secluded island and your I-Pod has a defect. It only will play one song (which is none of your own ones). Which one?

„Don’t stop believing“ by Journey

08.)
If you could start again at the beginning of your band, would you do anything different than you did?

Start growing out my hair as soon as I joined

09.)
How much does the music you are doing mean to you? Are there limits in what you would invest (time / emotions / finances)?

Every show I play I feel like I’ve reached far beyond my limits. I guess I have to keep trucking until the wheels fall off.

The very last question:
10.)
If there was a question you always wanted to be asked, but never were asked yet, what would it be and what would be your answer?

Do I like David Hasselhoof? Like him.I love him. I have all his greatest hits!!!
